This animal is from a Pitch Black x Pitch Black pairing. The Pitch Black line is a selectively bred form of progressive melanism, similar to IMG boas. This means the babies start out almost normal looking and develop black pigment with each shed. This process continues until the skink is fully grown at two to three years old.

The mother is "Black Noir" who is the mother of all the Pitch Black skinks I have produced. She is almost solid black and has produced babies that are nearly solid black.  The father is "Blackfish". Both are large northerns at nearly two feet long and are very calm and gentle skinks. The first photo is the exact animal available, photo taken 7/10/25. Both parents are also pictured.

Northern blue tongue skinks make some of the very best pet reptiles. They are extremely hardy, sturdy, intelligent, friendly, and easy to feed. I have been continuously keeping and breeding Northern blue tongues for over twenty six years, far longer than the vast majority of skink breeders. During that time I have learned a lot about this species and I continue to grow and develop as a keeper and breeder. I offer some of the most beautiful and healthy skinks in the world.
